15th April 2020 – French

I studied verbs ending in -duire, -uire, and -cevoir. I also did vaincre, convaincre, voire, croire and fuir. There is a lot to remember, but rather than learn them by rote, I’m going to try to get as much input as possible, so I’m going to use a wide variety of materials. The more often I encounter the verbs in their conjugations, the more they will stick.

I then copied out 5 pages from my test vocabulary book. I also did some more Duolingo.

Total study time: 1 hour 15 minutes – Duolingo: 30 minutes, grammar: 30 minutes, vocabulary: 15 minutes

15th April 2020 – Chinese

I did units 11 and 12 from my Read Aloud book and then did shadowing of units 1 -5. I tested myself on the HSK level 3 test vocabulary. I really need to study vocabulary more. I get the words right, but sometimes (well, quite often) I get tone wrong. Which means I am saying something completely different. I’m working my way through the HSK test book, but just doing the vocabulary and not the grammar this time. I’m up to unit 9. I think I should get out my vocabulary book and start listening to the CDs in the car again.

Total study time: 1 hour – Read aloud: 40 minutes, vocabulary: 20 minutes
