31st March 2020 – Japanese

I’ve started reading another English book. I think I’m avoiding studying for the cosmetics license exam. I’m not even sure the exam will be held. I’ll get back on to my reviewing and studying once I’ve finished the English book, which should be in the next day or two. I’m still keeping up with my Japanese by translating and reading the newspapers.

31st March 2020 – French

I have been getting frustrated with my French lately, and not looking forward to my study. This is a sign that I need to take a step back. The book I am using is going to quickly for me. So, I’m going to start using my French Verb Review and Practice book and go back to the basics rather than carry on with the imperfect, future, conditionals and subjunctive, which is where I’ve hit the wall.

I read through these in my grammar book, and did 4 units from my “read aloud” book. I also copied out 5 pages of my test vocabulary dictionary.

Total study time: 45 minutes – grammar: 15 minutes, vocabulary 15 minutes, reading aloud: 15 minutes

31st March 2020 – Chinese

I didn’t do so much because I wanted to focus on my French. I used my “read aloud” books for the first time. I just did one unit. The reviews on Amazon say that one of speakers has a non-standard accent, and therefore is not a good resource. I bought it anyway. It’s true, one of the speakers sounds very different from the other, and from any other Chinese speakers I have heard, but it doesn’t bother me. I know the standard pronunciation of the words so when I repeat, I use that.

Total study time: 20 minutes – reading aloud: 20 minutes
