I continued to study the practice test questions for the cosmetics exam. There was a lot I didn’t know, so no change there!

16th March 2020 – French
I got stuck on reciprocal reflexive verbs. Aren’t they the same as reflexive verbs? There was a list of idiomatic pronominal verbs, of which apparently French has many. Their meaning differs from their non-pronominal form. So lots to learn….I made quite a few mistakes in the exercises, and some of them were so difficult for me that I just copied the answers. The book is moving too fast for me. Although I should have realised this before I bought it, as the cover says “Master High-Freqency Grammar for French Proficiency FAST!” Not sure this speed will make one proficient, but…anyway….

16th March 2020 – Chinese
I didn’t do much Chinese today because I got hung up on the French grammar. I just did unit 16 from my HSK level 3 book. It was about causative verbs, forbidding people to do things and giving orders. Easy enough to understand.
