6th March 2020 – Japanese

I finished reading Kuchu Branko. It was good, but not as funny as In the Pool. I have one book in the series left to read, but I’m going to leave that until after my skincare and cosmetics tests. I have applied for them now, so I’m going to use my Japanese study time to review the textbooks and do the practice question and answer books.

I’m quite pleased that I have read three Japanese novels so far this year. I hope to read many more.

Total reading time: 1 hour

March 6th 2020 – French

I studied adverbs and their formation with -ment and -emment and -amment. I then studied comparatives and superlatives of adverbs. This wasn’t so bad. There is a list of adverbs in my textbook which I guess I’m just going to have to memorise. I also learnt family-related vocabulary.

I then copied 5 pages from my test vocabulary dictionary and did some shadowing using the first five passages from Easy French Reader. The shadowing is getting easier now that I’m getting used to it.

Total study time: 1 hour 30 minutes – Grammar: 50 minutes, vocabulary 25 minutes, shadowing: 15 minutes

March 6th 2020 – Chinese

I did lesson 27 in my workbook. This was are review of the topic about keeping pets. It was also a review of using the adverb “extremely” and the “not… but….” construction.

I then did two units of my HSK level 3 textbook with the audio, and some listening using Mimi ga Yorokobu. The listening passages are quite advanced, but I’m getting used to them. I can understand the earlier ones if I read along in the book.

Total study time: 1 hour 30 minutes – Workbook: 30 minutes, HSK book: 45 minutes, listening: 15 minutes
