21st February 2020 – French

I did yet more irregular verbs – connaitre, savoir, voir, croire, courir, rire, and offrir, and other verbs which are conjugated in the same way. I know I’m not going to remember them just by studying them in my textbook, so I’m going to read as much as I can.

I did some shadowing using Easy French Reader. I’m up to passage four. I started at passage one and worked my way up to passage four. The texts are getting longer and more difficult, but I am getting used to shadowing, so it went well.

I did another ten pages from my French test vocabulary book. I read the words and the example sentences aloud.

Total study time: 1 hour 15 minutes – Grammar: 45 minutes, shadowing: 15 minutes, vocabulary: 15 minutes

21st February 2020 – Chinese

I did unit 38 in my conversation textbook. It was about sending luggage. I only have two units of the book left. Once I’m done, I’m going to go back to book 1 and memorise the conversations by reading aloud, and start the exercises for each unit in book 2. I am going to do those with my teacher too.

I also did some listening with my listening book Mimi ga Yorokobu. This is a book of short passages read at natural speed. I did eight passages. They are still hard for me, but they have the Japanese translations of some of the words, so I can sort of follow what is being said.

I also continued to read the sentences aloud from my HSK level 1-4 vocabulary book.

Total study time: 1 hour – Conversation book: 30 minutes, listening: 15 minutes, vocabulary book: 15 minutes
