I’m making progress on the novel In the Pool. I’ve finished the first story (it is a collection of short stories featuring the same psychiatrist) and moved on to the second. It’s quite entertaining! There are some words I don’t know, but it doesn’t hinder my understanding of story.
Today’s study was quite varied. I did a reading comprehension passage in my grammar textbook. I didn’t understand it all, but I understood enough to answer the questions.
After that, I did some shadowing using Easy French Reader. I reviewed passages 1-2 and then did passage 3. I was able to get through this quite quickly. Could it be that I’m getting used to it at last?
I then did 10 pages of vocabulary from graded 5, 4, and 3 of the French test. The test is conducted in Japan, so the book is in Japanese. I aim to take level 3 in June, so I need to know the vocabulary which will be on the test. The book has 304 pages, so if I do 10 pages a day, I should get through it in about a month. I read aloud when studying the words.
Total study time: 1 hour – Reading passage: 20 minutes, shadowing: 20 minutes, vocabulary: 20 minutes
I did a unit in my conversation textbook, and then practiced reading aloud from my HSK levels 1-4 vocabulary book. I listen to the CD of this book in my car. Reading aloud is an important part of language learning, so I want to incorporate it into my daily studies as much as I can. I did two sections. I’ll see if I can keep this up.
Total study time: 50 minutes – Conversation book: 20 minutes, vocabulary book: 30 minutes
